Three years ago Marvin walked through the door at TLC with no prior experience in care work and a willingness to learn from scratch. Today he holds the title of Senior Care Worker and is taking on one of the most responsible roles in the team. That journey from zero to senior in three years is something the whole TLC family is proud of and something Marvin himself reflects on with genuine feeling.
In Marvin's own words
"I wanted to take a moment to reflect on and express my gratitude for the past three years with TLC. It has truly been an incredible journey for me. When I first joined, I had no prior experience in care work. Starting from zero and growing into a Senior Care Worker today is something I am very proud of. The early days were not easy, but I was fortunate to have supportive co-workers and excellent trainers who guided me every step of the way. I am also deeply grateful to the office staff, who have always been available and supportive, making my journey much smoother. One of my greatest achievements has been building strong relationships with my clients. Knowing that they trust me and are happy to see me brings me immense joy. Seeing a smile on their faces reassures me that I am making a positive difference in their lives. Thank you for being part of my growth and for creating such a supportive and encouraging environment."

What his promotion means
As a Senior Care Worker, Marvin is now taking a lead role in the assessment process at TLC. This is the detailed fact-find that sits at the very beginning of every new care package: speaking with clients, their families and any other professionals involved, and drawing together a personal care plan that truly reflects what that individual wants to achieve. It is thoughtful, skilled work and it matters enormously to the people on the receiving end.
From Olwen Dean, Managing Director
"Marvin is now an experienced care worker. It's hard to believe he has been with us at TLC for 3 years. He has blended in well, he brings his own personality and culture to the teams and has recently become a father. We would like to thank Marvin for his loyalty and reliability and congratulate him on this milestone. He has recently been promoted to a Senior Care Worker position. Marvin has been concentrating on the assessment process — this is the 'fact find' where we talk to clients, their families and anyone else involved in their care, and look at writing a personal plan which reflects the outcomes that person wants to achieve. He will also receive an additional annual leave day."

Three years and counting
At the three-year mark Marvin joins TLC's long-service recognition scheme and receives an additional annual leave day as a thank you for his commitment and reliability. It is a small and meaningful acknowledgement of what he has given to the team and to the clients who trust him.
Congratulations Marvin. From everyone at TLC, we are glad you took that first step three years ago.
