A brief overview of the services we provide
The organisation’s care workers
We recognise that for most service users the most important people in our organisation are the care and support workers with whom service users will have regular contact. We take great care in recruiting, training and supervising our staff.
TLC provides all carers with training using a programme of induction, it is spread over a period of approx 13 weeks. It begins with induction awareness and the training is supported with a DVD, worksheets, handouts and then a test. All the titles in the training follow a similar format and we carry out practical training for moving and handling in the workplace.
Supervision is carried out on a regular basis and documented. The training package is patented by Mulberry House and is compliant with CSSIW guidelines on training.
The following titles all carry a DVD, handouts for carers to keep, worksheets for carers to keep and a test paper to test the effectiveness of the learning:
Fire training, food hygiene training, moving and handling training, health and safety training, principals of care and confidentiality training, first aid awareness training, medication administration training, understand your organisation training, person centred care, hand hygiene training, communication training, develop as a worker training, infection control training, adult abuse training, role of the care worker training.
All new carers shadow experienced carers to learn about individual service users and their care plans. Following on from the induction programme, carers are registered on the NVQ Level 2 in Care Programme with North Wales Training. Currently 10 carers are registered to start on the NVQ programme, 3 carers have achieved NVQ Level 3 in Care and 2 have achieved NVQ Level 2 in Care. During supervision any gaps in training can be identified and more specialised training organised such as stroke training or dementia training.
Our staff have a wide range of qualifications, a list of which can be requested from the agency office.
Tender Loving Care Ltd does not provide services through persons other than employees of the agency.
TLC will arrange contracts for Conwy Social Services, Conwy Local Health Board and on a private basis.

If the service user wishes to cancel the service temporarily, the arrangements will be as follows:

Private contracts – a decision will be made by TLC as to whether a retainer will be implicated.

The agency reserves the right to terminate this contract with immediate effect:
· Where an invoice remains unpaid for three or more months.
· When the service user has not upheld the agreed health and safety and/or non-discrimination standards referred to in this agreement.
